  1. Lucinda’s “spurtles” are Couthie Spurtles in different sizes. I have a spurtle my great-great grandmother brought from Scotland, and it’s a round rod-like wooden shape with a thistle carved on the top end. She used it to stir the Scots porridge (steel-cut oatmeal) she ate every morning of her life. It is still used, and I expect my daughter or granddaughter will use it in their turn. Now that’s a durable kitchen utensil!

    1. I paid for two sets; received only one. After numerous tries reaching customer service via phone and email, I haven’t yet spoken to a real person – only auto replies or recordings . Very disappointed in their service. Buyer beware.

    2. Horrible Customer Service, it has been about a month and I still haven’t received my order. The sent me a tracking number a week ago and it still shows pending shipment. AVOID Lucinda’s Kitchen!

      1. You aren’t the only one to get this false tracking number. The tracking number was cancelled after a few days and I have tried multiple times to speak to someone or get a response using their “service” email. NOTHING!!! This was sent as a gift after receiving a set from my husband that went through the same process! Thought it would show up before a birthday. Unfortunately I have no idea if it ever arrive before Christmas and this was ordered in early November.

      2. Don’t bother ordering Spurtles from Canada, unless you want a horror story.
        I ordered a set plus bonus December 4th. Kaloric.com sent me an email saying that both natural and blue handle were on back order, a week or two for both sets. Early January I received notice of shipment and tracking. Checked tracking on January 13th and was horrified to see that although package through USPS had cleared customs, had ended up in New York and was then sent back to Kaloric.
        I sent an email with my order # asking what was going on.
        On January 24th I received a package through UPS who just left it at the door.
        After opening, I found out that they had sent me a black handled set an a blue handled set.
        Still no answer from the email sent on the 13th.
        I finally called on February 11th and was told I would get a call back in 2 or 3 days.
        Instead I got an answer from my email on February 18th, saying that they couldn’t find my order, but would get back in touch with me within 10 business days.
        Today after checking our mail box, I found that I had received an invoice for over $30 for brokerage fees, note not customs fees from UPS.

        I have sent Kaloric a stinking email asking what they will do.
        I certainly have not had any problems having shipments from the US before, nor have I ever had brokerage fees like this and I certainly had no understanding that the items would be shipped by UPS.

  2. I have been hesitant to purchase. The items are inexpensive with a bit much for shipping cost. Buy one, get one but pay double for shipping? I am still looking for a better quality tool set.

  3. Although the spurtles I received seem to be doing their intended job, I am still awaiting my second order which was placed at the same time. I also paid for the expedited shipping which seems to take longer than the typical 2 day mail route. As with everything, I should’ve read the reviews first. Buyer beware.

  4. I purchase them and one month later still have not received this product. They also refuse to even answer their email from customer service. They have my cash, but I have no product. This company is a joke.

  7. I purchased this set 2 years ago, I absolutely adore them! So much so I bought six other sets to give relatives for Christmas presents, and those people are nuts about them. The wood is excellent, sturdy, they are really the perfect kitchen tool. I know they have a lot of the plastic ones or silicone ones out now, I don’t like them. And the wood ones look so classy. You may need to leave them on the counter so you get used to using them, but well worth it.

  8. This company has deplorable customer service. I ordered 4 weeks ago and they took my money but still no product. They don’t answer requests for order updates. I did get an email stating my order was shipped but when I check on UPS Tracking, only a label has been created – a way to pacify a customer? They lie and steal – Complete fraud – beware of this company!

    1. Similar experience here. Placed an order on August 23, and as of today (November 2), same status as yours at usps.com. Requested a cancellation. We’ll see how that goes.

  9. Been waiting well over a month for this set. No response from email. No response from phone calls. They sent me a tracking number 10 days ago that won’t even pull up on USPS’s website. Not a happy camper right now. Bought these for a gift and that persons birthday has already come and gone.

  10. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! BUYER BEWARE!! Worst Customer service ever. Placed an order for 2 sets. 3 weeks later no items. They will not return emails or answer the phone AVOID THIS COMPANY . Had to file dispute with Credit Card to try and get my money back. You have been warned.

  11. In the reviews, I note that A Very Dissatisfied Customer who posted on October 26th, 2020 said to avoid this company. I am very nervous now because I ordered 2 sets of spurtles, one set in red and one set in black. I only received the red set last Friday (10/23/20). I have emailed the company and have not had a response. It is appearing that I am going to have paid for 2 sets and only receiving 1 set. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I too, am very displeased.   12. Yes, ordered my set with bonus set on 10/11/20. Checked the tracking info on 10/26/20 and saw “Shipment cancelled”! Texted UPS Help Center and learned the label was created on 10/14/20 but the sender voided the shipping label on 10/22/20 and to contact sender for more info!! What kind of company is this? ?? No response to email or call. BBB issue?

  13. I am wondering if this is a scam. I ordered 2 sets on Oct 6,2020 and haven’t received neither set! They took the money but no product was sent out!

  14. Ordered several sets on August 23, 2020 and haven’t received yet (November 3, 2020)! Made several attempts to contact Lucinda’s Kitchen via email and get response ‘ someone will respond to your email within 48 hours, no response yet!!!! Tried calling – was on hold for 20 minutes and no response here either, gave up and hung up!!!! I wouldn’t buy anything from them!!! Their customer service is non-responsive – it basically SUCKS! And yes like Cathy they go their money on Aug 24th!

  15. Ordered 2 sets on 10/17/20. Finally received one set on November 2nd. Have Emailed and called customer service regarding the second set with no response. I’m very disappointed because I had planned to order more sets to give as Christmas gifts. Do not buy!

  16. i tried to order 3 sets for Christmas presents. I filled all requierd fields 3 or 4 times and they would not accept any. i lost all trust in this company. Shame on them for getting peoples hopes up for a product and then not follow thru on their promise.

  17. Ordered 2 sets and did get them. I’m Canadian and it was the worse purchase I ever made. They’re made in China and I read that they were made in the USA.
    My bill was around 58.00 and I didn’t think I could cancel because the order was placed. When my Credit card came in I paid $78.00 for maybe a 20.00 product. I emailed back and no answer.

    1. Call your credit card company and tell them of this fraud. You should receive a credit in your account. We had to do this several times with American Express. Their customer service trouble -shooters are excellent. Received our credit with no hassle. The offending company is also marked as fraudulent. PayPal is also excellent in retrieving $ from fraudulent businesses.

  18. Buyer beware! Extremely poor customer service. 20 min on hold NO ANSWER!!!
    I received my 2 sets but returned one and got no refund. They require very strict coding on return BRFORE u mail AND need their return authorization code BEFORE you send it back. I got NO REFUND AND NO EMAIL RESPONSE AND NO RETURN CALL! These are NOT HEATPROOF!!!

    1. If you paid by credit card, call them and tell them this company is a fraud. They should refund your $$ snd put a black mark on “Lucinda’s Kitchen.” The Attorney General in your state should also be notified that the company is a fraud.
      If u paid by PayPal, they are excellent in retrieving $$ from bad companies. We used them for fraud in the bogus toilet bowl cleaning powder and a Christmas wreath supposedly made in the US but made in China.

      1. You are right! Customer service is non-existent! Got my order today, the package said mad hungry????? Was from China. What happened to Lucinda Scala Quinn???? This is not a quality product, although, Lucinda Scala Quinn is quick to drop Martha Stewarts name. Just another scam! Martha should sue, unless she is involved in this scam, but I think not. Lucindaskitchen is a rip off!

  22. I’m experiencing the same problem as everyone else here. I ordered on 11/27, and I did receive a UPS tracking number after a few days. When I go to the UPS website to check on the tracking, it reads ‘SHIPMENT CANCELLED’! which means the seller voided out the shipment. Very strange. Based on the other complaints, I think I’m screwed.

  23. Do not order this product. I had to contact my credit card company to stop the payment. BEHOLD! Suddenly they shipped my order and it came from china under the name of mad hungry not Lucinda’s Kitchen. Just another rip-off. Lucinda Scala Quinn should be ashamed for dropping Martha Stewart’s name, only to be a paid actor, and POSSIBABLY reap a percent of sales. Just my opinion.

I ordered the spurtle on January 2 2021 they sent them to the wrong address and I have been calling them all the time and they keep saying that I will get a phone call back but never do this is the worst company I have ordered from. I never did get my order or they never refunded my money because I never got to talk to anyone that knows what they are doing. Bad customer service ever I will never order from here again

  24. I wish I had seen these responses before I placed an order for 12 sets to give as gifts. I have called and left two voicemail messages and sent several emails. I placed orders on November 18th and received an auto reply that my order was received and that there would be a”slight” delay in shipping. Other auto response emails indicate customer service response within 48 – 72 hours. No return phone call or email response to date. After reading these reviews, I plan to cancel my orders and call my credit card company to dispute the charges.

  26. I had a similar experience. However, after numerous emails and voicemails, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. I then sent an email cancelling my order (which had a tracking number, unshipped, for three weeks) and told them I had filed a dispute. My purchase was refunded almost the same day. I told them I could buy a dozen Spurtles on amazon or ebay, but I could not get one from the company directly. Lousy company.

  28. I ordered the Spurtle Special Offer, what a joke!!! I ordered on Oct.26 and as of today have yet to get any answer on phone or email. What is these people’s deal? This is no way to do bussiness!!
